Earth, Bones, and Light
The Earth is a field for growing
Brittle bones will be broken
The light cannot be seen
Until it is heard in words unspoken
Upon the dirt so old
Our life is green and bold
and free
The time we have is gold
Surrounded by the tempest sea
Within this mortal frame
There can be love and pain
and peace
Earth will take our remains
When our souls fly unbound, released
To useless eyes long blind
Dawn is precious to find,
to see
And to an unlocked mind
Nothing's more sacred than the key
On this earth, we are bones
looking for light.
