 Past the Surface;
The Looking Deeper Photo Essay

As the bible teaches, in everything we need to look and live deeper. The purpose of this photo essay was to create visually the idea of "looking deeper". In each series of 2 pictures there is a door or a person and something behind it - symbolizing an outer appearance and what is inside. Sometimes the inside may be just as the outside indicated, but sometimes it may not. Because we are born into a world of sin, one of the things we are burdened with is skewed judgement. Therefore, we can't trust ourselves to have the ability to determine the level of goodness (if any) that lies within something or someone. The only way for us to know the true state of something or someone in life is to ask One who knows and who will always tell us the truth - God. Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
This project is a reminder that we can't see truth on our own and need to ask God for his truth to see deeper.
